Double clicked reg file to install to registry. Slot two is black and is electrically wired to operate at x8 mode. Ignore possibly warnings incompatible Hardware.
There is one old IDE connector and I have 2 drives connected to it. I boot to XP via bootloader. All that is happening is that the driver files are being copied to C: BUT be ready to enter your computer’s bios as soon as you reboot! Is there a solution yet? That is the best way to find out. It worked with asks asus p5q pro motherboard with ich10 chipset.

Jack, maybe should add to the original guide-post the ICH9M reglines provided here as well? Windows XP bootet without problem. Make a Reboot and jump into Bios. Low profile solid capacitors line the top of the CPU socket and the right of the socket.
Once windows finishes installing the correct controller it will ask for a restart and you reboot, you will be running AHCI in Windows XP! Now it still doesn’t work like an usb drive, meaning: Reinstalling the OS will probably cost you less time than ixe a proper reg file together.
I’ve tried the ICH9 code with no luck. For me its only the loss of the DVD drive, in 32bit mode it works though. Thanks to Jack t. That po why I removed your post. You only need the sata drivers slipstreamed.
